UEFA EURO 2020 CONTENDERS I'M VIEW: SWITZERLAND

With the UEFA Euro 2020 (which was initially shifted to this year) coming closer and closer, we take a look at one of the teams in the competition who have the pedigree to lift the trophy come the end of the tournament. Switzerland are a very top team and even though many consider them as underdogs, they are quite a handful and possess some top players who are capable to hurt opponents on their way to making a strong claim for the title.
EURO Pedigree

Previous final tournaments: 4
EURO best record: last 16 (2016)
The forthcoming competition will be the fifth one the Swiss national team will be participating in and they maintain the goal of wanting to make it to the quarterfinals. The closest they have come in the competition was in 2016 when they reached the round of 16 but unfortunately lost to Poland on penalties.
Key Players:

Yan Sommer
Yan Sommers currently has 58 caps for his country and emerged as the Swiss national team's number 1 in 2014 after leaving Basel and moving to German side Borussia Monchengladbach. He is as important for his national team as he is for Monchengladbach.
Grant Xhaka
Arsenal midfielder Xhaka is currently on 89 caps for Switzerland and has scored 12 goals during that period. He is the engine of the Switzerland side's midfield and came through the youth ranks at Basel. He joined the Gunners in 2016 and has become one of his national team's most pivotal players since then.
