PREMIER LEAGUE: XHAKA IMPRESSES FOR ARSENAL

Switzerland skipper Granit Xhaka has continued to impress for Arsenal in the Premier League this season. At the start of the season, a lot of football stakeholders thought it was time for manager Mikel Arteta to remove Xhaka from his starting XI permanently, but the Switzerland midfielder has proven himself to be a key player after a sensational start to the season. Xhaka has already matched his goal contributions in each of the last two Premier League campaigns in just seven Premier League games this season.

On the opening weekend of the season, Switzerland star Xhaka didn't have any goal contribution as Arsenal beat Crystal Palace 2-0 away from home in the London Derby. Brazil international Gabriel Martinelli scored the first Arsenal goal in the first half before a Marc Guehi own goal late in the game wrapped up the win for the Gunners.
Xhaka made his first goal contribution of the season when he provided the assist for Gabriel Jesus to open the scoring in the first half of the 4-2 home win over Leicester City. It was the second Premier League game of the season for the Gunners. Xhaka was the recipient of the third Arsenal goal during the game against the Foxes.

A lot of football fans had expected to struggle in his advanced midfield role this season, but the Swiss international has excelled in the role. The Switzerland player made it one goal and two assists in three Premier League games when he provided the assist for the third Arsenal goal during the 3-0 away win over Bournemouth.
Xhaka didn't have any goal contribution during the Fulham game at home which ended in a 2-1 win for Arsenal thus making it four wins from four Premier League games for the North Londoners. He then had a hand in the opening goal scored by Gabriel Jesus during the 2-1 home win over Aston Villa. Swiss star Xhaka didn't have any goal contribution during the 3-1 defeat at Manchester United for the Gunners. He returned to provide an assist during the 3-0 away win over Brentford in the London Derby clash played on Sunday.
After seven Premier League games, Xhaka has one goal and three assists. He has been one of the best players for the Gunners who are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment.
