SWITZERLAND STAR ADMITS RECENT MISTAKE

Switzerland midfielder Granit Xhaka has admitted that he made a big mistake during the recent Premier League game at home to Burnley. The Switzerland national team captain came in for a lot of criticisms for his action that led to a red card during the game. Granit Xhaka was given his marching orders after he grabbed Burnley player Ashley Westwood by the throat in the second half of the league game with the scoreline at goalless.

His red card was keenly felt by Arsenal as they went on to lose 1-0 to Burnley in what's their first defeat to the Clarets in the Premier League era. Arsenal skipper Pierre-EmerickAubameyang scored an unfortunate own goal to give the Clarets the three points at stake. Switzerland midfielder Xhaka was forced to miss the next three Arsenal games as a result of his red card. He missed the league games against Southampton

BOOTHROYD INSISTS ENGLAND ARE IN A DIFFICULT GROUP

The head coach of the England U-21s national team Aidy Boothroyd has lamented that his England side have been drawn into a group of death and it will be difficult to make significant progress in the group.


The Young Lions belong in the same group as Croatia, Switzerland, and Portugal in Group D and will face their rivals in the 2021 Euros competition in Slovenia and Hungary. The draw was held on Thursday and one of the top seeds before then included Boothroyd"s boys.
