Didac Vila placed a cross onto the head of a charging Herrara who slipped between the two Swiss centre backs at the near post and pushed the ball past Swiss keeper Yann Sommer.

In the second half, the young Spaniards took near total control of the match, playing tic-tac-toe with the ball, rarely allowing the Swiss to mount a
counterattack.

Club president Urs Linsi said: “Better for the club to live in Aarau than die in Zurich. We have no alternative but to move out.”

YAKIN SHINES IN SWISS LEAGUE

Switzerland international Hakan Yakin was one of the very few players who have shined in the Swiss league so far. Disaster was just about averted in the spring as, under Rolf Fringer, they battled their way into a relegation/promotion play-off, beating FC Lugano 5-1 over two legs to cling onto their top-flight place. That summer, the 1988/89 Swiss champions pulled off a major coup in persuading playmaker Hakan Yakin to move to central Switzerland and since then, the only way has been up.

"I considered many positive wishes, requests and tips from everyone who encouraged me to continue with the national team," the 31-year-old forward was quoted as saying by reporters.
