Unfortunately for Switzerland, they have been paired up with host nation France in Group A of this summer’s European Championship.
However, they will also face Romania and Albania – and both fixtures are certainly winnable. Whilst top spot may be out of reach, there’s no reason why Switzerland cannot qualify for the knockout stages as runners up.

The Bayern Munich midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri has said that he is extremely happy that the Bayern Munich fans have been enjoying his style of play over the last few weeks. The club recently signed the Switzerland international and the 20-year-old has already been a huge hit with the fans.
The home crowd have certainly warmed up to the player in recent weeks. Even though there have been suggestions that the Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes will be looking to employ him in various roles due to his versatility, Xherdan Shaqiri has confirmed that he is set to play for the German club as a midfielder.

There has been a lot of speculation regarding the future of Swiss player Xherdan Shaqiri. He has been linked with German giants Bayern Munich for quite some time now.
Finally, the German club have announced that they have signed the player on a four-year deal in the final few hours of the January transfer window. FC Basel 1893 will now sell the player when the transfer window reopens in the summer. Until then, he will be spending time with his current club FC Basel 1893. This is one of the major moves for a Swiss player in recent times.
