Former Arsenal star Martin Keown believes the likes of Granit Xhaka and Shkodran Mustafi need to provide much more on the playing field in order to secure their long-term futures with the club. The pair have received mixed reactions from the Gunners’ faithful this term, though they managed to recently impress in the double-legged Europa League tie versus AC Milan.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has panned the performance of his former club after they succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to the Tottenham Hotspur in the north London derby last weekend. The Gunners started the game with a defensive-minded approach which helped them keep the scores level at the break.

Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly planning to boost their promotion hopes ahead of next season with a move for former Arsenal defender Johan Djourou.
The Switzerland international is a free agent following his release from German club Hamburg, and it is claimed that he is in constant contact with the Championship club, although manager Carlos Carvalhal has remained coy on the speculation.

Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka has been subjected to much criticism since his £ 35 million move to Arsenal last summer.
Even after having spent such a vast sum of money on a player from German football, Arsenal have been unable to enjoy a strong campaign. In fact, the club are looking set to miss out on the Champions League campaign for next season as a result of finishing outside the top four. Arsenal, though, are ending the season with a flourish once again with Granit Xhaka one of the best players over the last few weeks. His form once again came to the fore when he scored one of the goals in the 2-0 win over Manchester United.
