Swiss Coach Gets Presents From Rival Teams

One of the advantages of Switzerland hosting friendly matches is that the coach gets presents from the visitor teams.

That’s what happened on 29th March 2016. Though the friendly match played between Switzerland and Bosnia did not end in favor of the host, the beginning was definitely sweet.

The national team coach of the visitor team Bosnia and Herzegovina offered gifts to Vladimir Petkovic, the Swiss coach before the game begun. The act was symbolic on part of Bazdarevic who showcased his well wishes as well as on behalf of FFBIH management. The gifts were also part of the wishes of the rival team to offer best wishes for the Swiss team in the upcoming European Championships that would be held in France. Switzerland will be competing against Romania, Albania and France in the major championship game.
Both the coaches know each other in their playing history. Mehmed had played for Zeljeznicar while Vladimir had played for a rival team Sarajevo. While both the coaches are now, friends, their loyalties lie with their respective teams. And that was displayed when Bosnia made a stunning performance on the field and defeated Switzerland.

As Switzerland gears up for the Championship tournament coming up, Nico Elvedi has made his senior cap debut with this team. He has been called to participate in the senior squad by the coach Vladimir Petkovic. He has been in training with the squad and has played for the U21s. The game had led to a draw by an English team. The inclusion of fresh blood in the team will hopefully raise Switzerland’s chances this summer. For the fans there are fresh faces to look forward to and novel action strategies which will need to stand against rival teams and their performances on the field.
